Time to chime! Distant Chimes Cohort 3 now forming

It's time for us to start gathering the next group of chimers to ring in the "Distant Chimes" handchime choir.

When you come to ring, you're not making a long-term commitment - it works differently than a traditional church choir.

Here's how it goes: For each new cohort, Martin puts out a call for people to sign up to ring. Then, after a couple of weeks of gathering names, Martin will send around a Doodle poll to find which date works best for the first rehearsal. (Usually it's a Sunday after church, but select Wednesday nights are also possible). Then, at the first rehearsal, the group decides how many more rehearsals they need to have and when they want to ring in person at the 11 a.m. Eucharist one Sunday.

The past two groups have kept the music *really* easy so that even kids can participate without needing any prior musical knowledge or training.

So - if you know how to count to 10, you can be successful at chiming: it sounds really beautiful without being difficult.

To sign up, write to music@stcolumbakent.org and Martin will put you on the email list to ring.
