Potential Snow Event this Weekend: Our Plans
Dear Ones of St. Columba's,
We are facing a potential snow event this coming weekend, and I want to let you know what changes and adaptations we are planning if it turns out that clergy or staff cannot safely make it to church to facilitate our planned weekend activities. This is a contingency plan, as weather is never certain, and we will be communicating as we go so that you are informed each step of the way.
Sunday Morning Worship: In the event that snowy roads prevent clergy, staff, and volunteers from driving to the church building for our usual 10am livestream service, we will instead hold a the service from our respective homes. It will be similar to a normal service, but the service will end before the Eucharist. A new bulletin will be send out Sunday morning. You will still be able to participate in the service on Facebook Live.
Honey Sales: If we cannot be on site to facilitate honey sales this Sunday we will postpone and sell honey on Sunday February 21st instead.
Lent Bags: If we need to cancel Lent Bag pick-ups this Sunday we will make time on Tuesday Feb 16th to do a pick up. Meghan will be in touch with folks who have not picked up their bags by Sunday to see if porch drop offs or additional pick-up arrangements are needed.
Friends, as anyone who has lived through a couple winters here can tell you, our weather and our snow are difficult to predict. As usual we will continue to stay connected, stay church, and take care of each other whether we are snowed in or not! I will continue to stay in touch about plans if and when the snow begins to fall, and please do not hesitate to contact me or Meghan if you have questions about where to go, what link to click, or how to get honey or a Lent Bag!
with care and gratitude,
Alissa
