Help Us Welcome our Neighbors Without Shelter this October

The Reach Out Winter Shelter is returning to St. Columba's from Sept 30th - Nov 3rd, 2019. This is a winter shelter for men in the Auburn/Kent/Federal Way/Des Moines area that moves monthly to different area host churches. We will be hosting up to 25 men overnight each night in our fellowship hall.

In addition to sleeping space, St. C's provides two volunteer hosts each evening the shelter is with us. Hosting is easy! Simply show up around 7:50pm, make some coffee and set out milk and juice for the men, and then be present to welcome and orient the meal volunteers as well as greet and be a human presence of hospitality to the shelter guests. Volunteers can expect to be done and headed home by 9:15pm, if not earlier.

Now is the time to sign up to host! Consider making this ministry of hospitality to our most vulnerable neighbors part of your spiritual practice this fall. You are invited to sign up for anywhere from one night to multiple nights per week, as you discern and as space is available.

Click here to sign up, or look for a paper form available this Sunday at coffee hour.
