Our ministry of hospitality to the Reach Out shelter for homeless men begins this week. I would like to invite you to join me in praying for our guests as well as for the people of our wonderful St. Columba's community who have volunteered to help with this ministry this month. 

If you are so inclined, you can use this prayer:

God our eternal home, our hearts are restless until we find our rest in you. Like the people you called out of Egypt, we are wanderers in the wilderness, drawn by your invitation to a home we cannot see. We pray for those who have no place to find comfort in their suffering, for the men of the Reach Out shelter who are our guests this month, and for all who are experiencing homelessness. We pray for all those who are offering the ministry of hospitality in your name, both here at St. Columba’s and in churches and shelters around the world. Give us grace to see you in the faces of all we meet, but especially in those who are so often overlooked by the world. Hear our prayer, for you are our true and eternal home, one holy and undivided Trinity, now and forever. Amen.
