From the Vicar: Wider Still
Dear One’s of St. C’s,
I am so excited to celebrate St. Columba’s Day with you this Sunday. I am so thankful that even in this time of change and transition there is so much to celebrate. I feel so honored and thankful that I get to continue in partnership and ministry with all of you. These last 4 years together have not always been easy, thinking particularly of when covid took us by surprise, but I can say, for me, my time at St. C's has been filled with joy. You all have taught me again and again, in practical ways, how our power and our joy is found when we work, celebrate, and mourn together.
This Sunday we will come together and celebrate my installation, Kim’s confirmation, our continued partnership with the Sudanese community, and all we do here to care for one another and our neighbors. I hope this weekend you will spend some time reflecting on your place in this community and what St. Columba's means to you. I am looking forward to partnering with you all in the years to come. As we steward this property together to bless our neighbors and to pull into the center anyone society attempts to push outside of the circle. I welcome you to join me in continuing to do what St. Columba's does best, as we draw the circle wide, draw it wider still, allowing us to be Jesus hands and feet in this world.
with joy,
Meghan
