"The other thing I can’t get over in this passage is the last line, how finally Jesus was made known to them in the breaking of the bread. Of course he was. He was with them the whole time, on the road, in their sadness, while the hearts burned within their chests. But they don’t realize it’s him until he breaks bread. Because things have to break open for transformation to happen, right?"
