The Celebration of Life for Sondra Nelson will be at St. Columba's on Thursday, February 16th @11am. This service will be streamed to the St. Columba's facebook page.  A light lunch will be served following the service.  All are invited to attend. Please, pass along this information to anyone you know who might want to attend.  

Sondra has been part of St. Columba for decades, and contributed so much to our life together throughout the years. She was involved with music, singing and acolyte ministry, before aging made those activities unrealistic for her. She also served as receiving treasurer, and likely in many ways I do not even know about. Sondra had a long career as a nurse, and this past week we talked together about how much she enjoyed her 20+ years of retirement as well, especially any opportunity she had to go camping, something she was still actively planning to continue, despite turning 88 this past December.

It is hard to imagine St. Columba's without Sondra Nelson. Her faithful presence, playful spirit, and wry honesty were so cherished by those of us who knew her. Her absence will leave a painful gap in our lives.

O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Sondra. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate to eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
