In the wake of continued violence around the globe and here at home in the USA, it's becoming more and more difficult for parents to 1. manage our own fears, and 2. know how to talk to our children about violent events in the world.

Join Mother Alissa and St. C's congregant Dr. Vibh Forsythe Cox, a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in adolescents and trauma, for two special conversations about how we can do just that.

These conversations will happen on July 10th and August 7th after the 11am service. Childcare will be provided, so parents can speak freely and learn together.

July 10th: Managing Our Fears as Parents. This conversation will focus on what fear is and what it does in our minds and bodies. Vibh and Alissa will explore these topics and offer some concrete skills for parents to help us manage our fears as we raise kids in violent world.

August 7th: Talking to Kids about Traumatic Events. What's the best way to talk to kids about scary news? Come and learn a few different approaches, how to start the conversation and how to know if your child, tween, or teen needs to talk.
